Dirt Truck Racing Association FoundedThe Dirt Truck Racing Association, a nonprofit organization, was organized to oversee dirt truck racing in the state of Iowa in 2003. The association is open to anyone with an interest in dirt truck racing, with three levels of membership available:
The association will be operated by members of the
association, with an initial board of directors serving a two-year term.
Following that term, members of the association will vote on directors
for the organization. The 2010 Board of Directors are:
2003 DTRA Founding Board of Directors (Pictured Here) are: L to R, Carl Moyer, Bob Nading, Mick Trier, Mark Fee, Wayne Larson, Lou Sipolt and Pat Fagen. The 2010 board has announced that Chuck Stowe will return as Director of Competition. Assisting Chuck as the DTRA Tech Officials will be former DTRA competitors, former DTRA Board Members and DTRA members since its beginning, Bill "Big Bill" Hull and Mark Fee. Rules disputes may be submitted to the board for resolution. This is the same concept used in many nonprofit associations. It is the intent of the group to keep the rules fair for everyone, make elected board members accountable to the membership for decisions affecting the racers, and allowing the membership to decide which members are best suited to serve on the Board of Directors. It is the intent of the founders of the association that this will be the first organization of its kind in the area that is operated by the drivers, owners and general members of the group. The nonprofit group will strive to increase purses for its racing members while helping to reduce the costs of dirt truck racing. A long-term goal of the association is to provide insurance for the racers and crew members as part of the membership fee.
